I had an MOT done at this place, and, look. I don't know much about cars - I only went to this place because they advertise with a big sign their MOT prices and it looks like they're the cheapest around. And I've heard that some garages will rip you off with unnecessary repairs or what have you. So I've been going for a couple of years and normally the MOT comes to about £100 with parts. Fine, that's normally what I pay whenever I get an MOT done, here and elsewhere. But this time I get a call saying it's failed it's MOT (again, no drama), and the engineer (J Peters?) says that among other things a brake fluid tube is corroded and would need to be replaced. I said that would be fine, and arranged to pick it up later. When I picked it up, he said that actually the brake fluid tube was fine and just needed tightening. Therefore he didn't charge me for it. It seems like a really small thing to give a 5 star review over, but this is the most actively honest event that has happened to me during an MOT - he knew that I would be happy to pay for something, and from my tone knew it was likely I wouldn't check or cause a fuss, and he still did the honest thing and didn't charge me for it when it wasn't necessary. Strong recommend.
Rude staff. Had to do MOT on my car. Left a car with them expecting a call back when it will be done (as they said they will). After an hour and a half came around to found out that it did not pass and needs more work to it, which is fine, but just waisted my time as there was no phone call to explain what is wrong and what can it be done about it. They said it will be really quick so in an hour time came back again( again no phone call) to find out it is all done, but just need to be re testing. I decided to wait on a car park (waited an hour) seen my car parked on a back of their car park with the cars in front of it. Said to the guy will need to leave for work soon, to hear first time him saying that they just got one guy doing testing today and actually kind of apologise, and that my car is next. Waited another half an hour and decided to leave it and pick it up later. As soon as I left a car park got a phone call 4 min after to find out that my car is done! 4 min? Came back round to find the same car in front of my car on a car park. So my car was not even moved! I am just guessing they waited for me to leave just to tell me it is done without even checking it. Waisted my whole day. No phone calls back, very poor customer service, even though he tried to make a conversation when I was picking up a car. Will never recommend them and never will use their service again.
Good service however took a little longer than I anticipated. Friendly staff although it appeared there weren't many of them.
Very good service, I had ordered a tyre that wasn't the right size and they ordered a replacement straight away and it was on my vehicle ASAP! Full marks and thank you Mr Clutch, I shall go to that branch again if possible, as I have in the past, they have proved again to be the best choice.
After having years of good service from MrClutch, took my car for a MOT, car failed on Air bag light on, 2 outer sill with holes in and a tyre below the recommended tread depth. Was spoken down to by a young lad, that told me the sills would cost at least £800 to repair, and could be a lot, lot more than this if the inner sills were in bad shape, also he went on, and on and on about the dangers of a bald tyre. Being very old, and very , very wise, decided to take my car somewhere else for a quote, this happened as lockdown was about to start, was quoted £400 all in for the sills and air bag. Unfortunately the garage closed due to lockdown, before they could do the work. So after having very good service from MrClutch on this occasion I received very bad service from MrClutch. In the end I decided to do the job myself, purchasing two new sills, and borrowing a welding machine and helmet, cost of both sills was £75, these were lazer cut and shaped to fit my car perfectly, it did take me a few attempts to get the welding right, the inner sills were in good condition, so only the outer sills needed replacing, so this job cost me £75 for both sills and £10 for the welding rods, the air bag light problem turned out to be a faulty connection underneath both front seats, tyre still had plenty of tread on it, so I could not understand why it was a failure. Took car to another garage for the MOT, and it passed.
